Competencies of primary education assistans for children with low vision

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na kompetence asistentů pedagoga, kteří pracují se zrakově postiženými žáky na základní škole. Teoretická část je zaměřena na vymezení pojmu asistent pedagoga a na seznámení se s náplní práce asistenta pedagoga. Dále se teoretická část zaměřuje na vymezení zrakového postižení a na práci se zrakově postiženými žáky. Empirická část je soustředěna na metodologii kvantitativního výzkumu formou elektronického dotazníkového šetření s následnou analýzou získaných dat. Data byla získána srovnáním vyplněných dotazníků, kdy jeden byl určený pro asistenty pedagoga a druhý pro pedagogy, kteří pracují se zrakově postiženými. Cílem výzkumu je zjistit, jaké vlastnosti a dovednosti očekávají pedagogové od asistentů pedagoga při práci se zrakově postiženými a zda i asistenti pedagoga považují tyto vlastnosti a dovednosti pro svou práci za důležité.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on the competences of teaching assistants who works with visually impaired pupils. The theoretical part discusses the term "teaching assistant" and describes the responsibilities of such person. Moreover, it focuses on the ranges of visual impairment and on the work with pupils that are disabled in this way. The empirical part of this thesis deals with methodology of the quantitative research that was performed by the mean of electronical questionnaire. The data that were collected in this way were then analysed. The filled questionnaires were compared one of the questionnaires was intended for the teaching assistants while the second one was intended for the teachers who work with visually impaired students. The goal of this research was to determine what qualities and skills are being expected by the teachers from the teaching assistants and whether the teaching assistants consider these skills to be important for their work as well.
