The impact of illegal migration on the internal security of the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá nelegální migrací a jejími příčinami vzniku s primárním cílem odpovědí na otázku, zda se občané České republiky (dále jen "ČR") cítí být ohroženi ve spojení s migrací a teroristickými útoky. Soubor respondentů se skládal z 23 studentů vysoké vojenské školy (muži ve věku 18 až 30 let), 10 pedagogů vysoké školy (muži ve věku 31 až 50) a 67 pracovníků finanční správy (muži ve věku 31 až 50; ženy ve věku 51 až 65 let) a 16 studentů vysoké školy Ambis (muži a ženy ve věku 31 až 50 let). Při výzkumu byla použita metoda SWOT, pomocí které byly analyzovány příležitosti migrace ve smyslu pozitivních a negativních dopadů včetně možných hrozeb a nebezpečí. Ohroženost či obavy občanů ČR v souvislosti s nelegální migrací byly zjišťovány pomocí dotazníku s uzavřenými a otevřenými otázkami. Z výsledků dotazníkového šetření bylo zjištěno, že 83 % dotazovaných respondentů se cítí v ČR bezpečně ve spojitosti s migrací, ale 95 % z nich vnímá nelegální migraci jako hrozbu, jelikož tuto hrozbu považují za terorismus. Z výsledků analýzy SWOT vyplynulo, že kvůli neefektivní integraci migrantů může docházet k sociálnímu napětí uvnitř státu a k nárůstu kriminální činnosti.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis was conducted with illegal migration and its causes with the primary aim of answering the question of whether the citizens of the Czech Republic feel threatened in connection with migration and terrorist attacks. The research set was composed of 23 military university students (men aged 18–30 years), 10 university teachers (men aged 31–50 years), 67 financial administration staff (men aged 31–50 years; women aged 51–65 years), and 16 university students Ambis (men and women aged 31–50 years). The SWOT method was conducted to analyze migration opportunities with the purpose to find positive and negative impacts including potential threats and dangers. The threat or concern of the citizens of the Czech Republic related to illegal migration was found using a questionnaire with closed and open questions. The questionnaire survey results showed that 83 % of respondents in the Czech Republic feel safely related to migration, but 95 % of them feel illegal migration as a threat, as they consider this threat to be terrorism. The SWOT analysis results showed that due to the ineffective integration of migrants, there may be social tensions within the state and an increase in criminal activity.
