The Role of a Pope in International Relations of the 20th centrury: a comparative study of the pontificate of Pius XII. and John Paul II.
Abstract:
Cílem této bakalářské práce je pomocí komparace pontifikátu papeže Jana Pavla II. a Pia XII. vyzkoumat, jakou roli hráli tito papežové v mezinárodním systému své doby. Primárně je pak práce zaměřena na způsob, jakým se tito papežové postavili k situaci, kdy na mezinárodní scéně dominovaly dvě totalitní ideologie - nacismus a komunismus.
Abstract:
Tha aim of this thesis is through comparison of the pontificate of John Paul II. and Pius XII. find out what role did these popes play in the international system of their time. Mainly is the thesis focused on the position which they took towards situation when the international arena was dominated by two totalitarian ideologies - Nazism and Communism.
