Business Correspondence. Comparison of Spanish and Czech Business Letters from the Stylistic, Grammatical and Lexical Point of View

Abstract:

ABSTRACT In our thesis we dealt with the differences in writing of business correspondence in Spain and in the Czech Republic. The thesis is divided into two parts. In the first theoretical part we studied closely the composition of the Czech and Spanish business letters. Then we studied differences in writing of these letters from the stylistic, grammatical and lexical point of view. In the practical part we analyzed distinctions in the given examples of the particular parts of the Spanish and Czech business letters. For our purpose we used textbooks, norms, specialized books and the up- -to-date knowledge in the field of business correspondence published on the Internet. We have found out that the composition of the business letters in both above mentioned languages is similar. There exists a certain amount of differences in the grammatical issues. From the lexical point of view we can say that a Spanish language uses a richer lexicon. It can be said that in the last few years too complicated phrases are being dropped and the style is being simplified.

ABSTRAKT V naší práci jsme se zabývali rozdíly v psaní obchodní korespondence ve Španělsku a v České republice. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části. V první teoretické části jsme podrobně studovali skladbu českých a španělských obchodních dopisů. Poté jsme zkoumali rozdíly v psaní těchto dopisů z hlediska stylistického, gramatického a lexikálního. V praktické části jsme analyzovali na uvedených příkladech rozdíly v jednotlivých částech španělských a českých obchodních dopisů. Pro účely naší práce jsme využívali učebnice, normy, odborné knihy i nejnovější poznatky z oblasti obchodní korespondence uveřejněné na internetových stránkách. Zjistili jsme, že skladba obchodních dopisů v obou jazycích je podobná. Existují jisté rozdíly po stránce gramatické. Po stránce lexikální můžeme konstatovat, že španělština využívá bohatší slovní zásobu. V posledních letech se upouští od některých složitějších frází a styl se zjednodušuje.
