European certification system of sustainable biomass and biofuels production used for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions generated during growing, harvesting, transporting and storing biomass in economics of a company

Abstract:

V roce 2011 jsem měl poprvé možnost seznámit se s požadavky směrnice Evropského parlamentu a rady 2009/28/ES z 23. dubna 2009 o podpoře využívání energie z obnovitelných zdrojů na udržitelnost biopaliv a se zásadami německého certifikačního systému ISCC (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification), který v roce 2011 jako první zásady této směrnice uvedl do praxe. Na příkladu společnosti AGRO Teplice, a.s., jsem v roce 2012 vypracoval bakalářskou práci popisující zásady tohoto systému a celý certifikační proces počínající jeho přípravou a završený získáním certifikátu. Již v této práci jsem okrajově zmínil principy výpočtu emisí skleníkových plynů podle produktu BioGrace GHG Calculation Tools, který se zabývá výpočty skleníkových plynů v celé Evropské unii, a k této problematice jsem se vrátil při zpracování diplomové práce. Obsahem diplomové práce jsou podstatné úkony související s certifikací systému, v tomto případě systému ISCC EU s celoevropskou působností včetně zdůvodnění tohoto kroku, a metodicky i fakticky provedené výpočty emisí skleníkových plynů při pěstování a sklizni biomasy pro výrobu biopaliv pomocí vlastního modelu z údajů, které mi společnost AGRO Teplice, a.s. poskytla. Tento model společnost může využít i pro další výpočty a výsledky těchto výpočtů může využít k deklaraci množství emisí skleníkových plynů při prodeji biomasy. Vzhledem k tomu, že obě práce nelze vzhledem k zachycení podstatných souvislostí problematiky obsahově úplně oddělit, částečně jsem vycházel z bakalářské práce, na níž jsem se v příslušných pasážích odvolal, a částečně z dalších dostupných dokumentů souvisejících s touto problematikou.

Abstract:

In 2011 I had a first opportunity to familiarize myself with the requirements of the directive 2009/28/EC of the European parliament and of the council of 23. April 2009 on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources and with the principles of German certification system ISCC (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification), which had put the principles of this directive in use in the same year. In 2012 I wrote a bachelor?s thesis describing this system and the certification process, beginning with the preparation for it and ending with receiving the certificate itself, with AGRO Teplice a.s. as an example. In this work, I have already mentioned the principles of calculation of the greenhouse gases emission according to the BioGrace GHG Calculation tools, which are used for the calculation of greenhouse gases emission for whole European Union. I have chosen to address this issue again in my diploma thesis. This diploma thesis contains the essential acts related to the system?s certification, in this case the ISCC EU system which is effective all across the Europe, and methodically and factually created calculations of the greenhouse gases emissions during the cultivation and harvest of biomass used for the biofuels production using my own model to evaluate the data provided by the company AGRO Teplice a.s.. This model can be used for further calculations and the results can be used for declaring the amount of greenhouse gases emissions when selling the biomass. Thanks to the fact that both of my thesis cannot be separated due to capturing essential connections of this issue, I have partially based this work on my bachelor?s thesis to which I refer in some parts of the text and partially on other documents related to the whole issue.
