Diplomová práce se zabývá návrhem volně stojící knihovny pro konkrétního zadavatele. Práce je rozdělena do dvou hlavních částí – teoretické a praktické. Teoretická část se zabývá vývojem knihoven jako kusu nábytku a knihoven jako institucí, dále ukládáním knih, což zahrnuje normy, dimenzování, ergonomii a materiály používané pro výrobu úložných řešení pro knihy. The diploma thesis deals with the design of a free-standing bookcase for a specific customer. The thesis is divided into two main parts – thereotical and practical. The theoretical part deals with the development of bookcases and libraries as well as storing of books, which includes standards, sizing, ergonomics and materials being used for book storage furniture manufacturing.
