Ecosystem functions of weed vegetation in agricultural landscapes

Abstract:

Abstrakt Cílem závěrečné práce bylo determinovat a charakterizovat některé druhy polních plevelů z hlediska využití jejich ekosystémových funkcí v zemědělské krajině s přihlédnutím k potenciálním nebezpečím spojeným s jejich záměrným pěstováním vyplývajícím z velké adaptability plevelné vegetace. Závěrečná práce byla zpracována formou rešerše s využitím tuzemských i zahraničních zdrojů se zaměřením na mnohostranné využití konkrétních plevelných druhů člověkem. Bylo zjištěno, že mnoho doposud opomíjených plevelných druhů lze využít v různých oblastech lidské činnosti, např. v léčitelství, k přípravě alternativních pokrmů nebo jako energeticky využitelné rostliny a je třeba se zaměřit na velkou ekologickou plasticitu těchto druhů, která je zatím nedostatečně prozkoumána a zaslouží si naší pozornost.

Abstract:

Abstract: The aim of this thesis was to determine and characterize certain types of field weeds in terms of their ecosystem functions in the agricultural landscape, taking into account the potential risks associated with their intentional cultivation resulting from the high adaptability of weed vegetation. The thesis was prepared in the form of a literature review using domestic and foreign sources, with a focus on the versatile use of specific weed species by humans. It was found that many previously neglected weed species can be utilized in various areas of human activity, such as in medicine, in the preparation of alternative foods, or as energetically useful plants. It is necessary to focus on the great ecological plasticity of these species, which is still insufficiently explored and deserves our attention.
