Jaroslav Bořita of Martinic. Downs and ups of witness of the Thirty Years' War in Bohemia.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce si klade za cíl zhodnocení osobnosti a kariéry Jaroslava Bořity z Martinic. Tento aristokrat stál u samotného počátku třicetileté války, když byl společně s Vilémem Slavatou z Chlumu a písařem Fabriciem defenestrován z oken České kanceláře v roce 1618 a stejně tak stál i na samotném konci války, když utrpěl vážné zranění při vpádu švédských vojsk do Prahy. Jaroslav Bořita z Martinic je jedním ze šlechticů, kteří díky své věrnosti císaři a katolické víře po Bílé hoře politicky i majetkově rostli. Odkaz Jaroslava Bořity z Martinic přetrval v podobě jeho synů, kteří výrazně zasahovali do dění v Českých zemích. Pozornost je věnována i samotnému rodu Martiniců, jehož první příslušníci jsou zaznamenáni v pramenech 15. století, a který vymřel po meči v roce 1789.

Abstract:

This bachelor´s thesis sets the objective to assess the personality and the career of Jaroslav Bořita of Martinice. This aristocrat stood at the very beginning of the Thirty Years' War, as he was defenestrated together with Vilém Slavata of Chlum and with the scribe Fabricio from the windows of the Czech Office in 1618, and he also stood at the very end of the War, as he suffered a serious injury during the Swedish army invasion of Prague. Jaroslav Bořita of Martinice is one of the noblemen who, thanks to their loyalty to the emperor and the Catholic faith, experienced political rise and property increase after the Battle of White Mountain. The legacy of Jaroslav Bořita of Martinice persisted in the form of his sons, who significantly influenced the events in the Czech lands. Attention is also paid to the family line of Martinice, whose first members are recorded in the sources of the 15th century and who died out in the male line in 1789.
