Comparison of rabbits performance between Great Light Silver and Californian breeds

Abstract:

V literární části se bakalářská práce zabývá historií chovu králíků a jejich stavů v České republice. Dále je zde zmíněno rozdělení plemen na základě jejich hmotností a využívaná technologie chovu v drobnochovu i faremním chovu. Část je věnována užitkovým vlastnostem, jako je růstová schopnost a jatečná výtěžnost. V návaznosti na užitkové vlastnosti je charakterizováno králičí maso a produkce kožek. V experimentální části je popsáno porovnání užitkových vlastností plemen Kalifornský a Velký světle stříbřitý v drobnochovu. Pozorovaní jedinci byli od 6. týdne po narození pravidelně váženi a v 18. týdnech poraženi. Lepších denních přírůstků dosahovalo plemeno Velký světlý stříbřitý, a to 35,84 g před odstavem a 22,25 g po odstavu. Nejvyšší přírůstky byly u obou plemen zaznamenány v období 7. – 11. týdnech věku. Po porážce byla vypočítána jatečná výtěžnost a jatečně upravená těla obou plemen opět porovnána. Průměrná porážková hmotnost Kalifornského plemene činila 2262 g a jatečná výtěžnost 54 %. U plemene Velký světle stříbřitý byla navážena průměrná porážková hmotnost 2777 g a jatečná výtěžnost vypočtena na 56 %. Plemeno Kalifornské vynikalo váhovou vyrovnaností jedinců bez ohledu na pohlaví, u plemene VSS byla lepší růstová schopnost pozorována u samic.

Abstract:

In the literary part, the bachelor thesis deals with the history of rabbit breed-ing and their quantity in the Czech Republic. It is also mentioned classification of breeds based on their weight and the technology used in small-scale and farm breeding. Next part deal with performance, such as growth rate and car-cass yield. In connection with the performance characteristics, rabbit meat and fur production are characterized. The experimental part describes the comparison of performance character-istics of Californian and Great Light Silver breeds in small-scale breeding. Ob-served animals were weighed regularly from 6 weeks old and slaughtered at 18 weeks old. The Great Light Silver breed achieved better daily growth, on aver-age 35.84 g before weaning and 22.25 g after weaning. The highest growth rates in both breeds were observed in the 7-11 weeks of age. After slaughter, the carcass yield was calculated and the carcasses of both breeds were com-pared again. The average slaughter weight of the California breed was 2262 g and the carcass yield was 54%. The Great Light Silver breed was weighed an average slaughter weight of 2777 g and the carcass yield was calculated to be 56%. The Californian breed excelled in the weight balance of individuals regard-less of gender, the VSS breeds females had better growth ability than males.
