Caretaker Governments and Presidents in Comparative Perspective

Abstract:

Tématem diplomové práce je vztah úřednických vlád a prezidentů ve srovnávací perspektivě České republiky, Československa a zahraničních případů. Hlavním cílem diplomové práce je důkladně analyzovat vztah českých úřednických vlád a prezidentů. Jedním ze dvou vedlejších cílů práce je rozebrat prvorepublikové úřednické vlády ve vztahu s prezidenty. Jako druhý vedlejší cíl práce jsme si stanovili prozkoumání vztahů úřednických vlád a prezidentů v několika zahraničních zemích. První část diplomové práce se věnuje úřednickým vládám v teoretické perspektivě, druhá část představuje metodologický oddíl. Další části diplomové práce se zaměřují na úřednické vlády v empirické rovině s důrazem na jejich vztah s prezidenty, a to konkrétně v mezinárodním srovnání, meziválečném Československu a České republice.

Abstract:

The topic of this Master thesis is the relationship of caretaker governments and presidents in the comparative perspective of the Czech Republic, Czechoslovakia and foreign cases. The main objective of the Master thesis is to thoroughly analyse the relationship of Czech caretaker governments and presidents. One of two minor objectives of the thesis is to analyse the First Republic caretaker governments in relation to presidents. The other minor objective is to examine relationships of caretaker governments and presidents in several foreign countries. The first part of the Master thesis deals with caretaker governments from the theoretical point of view, the other part deals with methodology. Further parts of the Master thesis focus on caretaker governments at the empiric level with the emphasis on their relationship with presidents, specifically at international comparison, interwar Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic.
