The unfavourable employment situation of young women and its solution strategies

Abstract:

Anotace: Tato magisterská diplomová práce s názvem Nepříznivé pracovní situace v kariéře mladých žen a strategie jejich řešení je rozdělena do dvou částí, teoretické a empirické. Teoretická část, která tvoří oporu pro část empirickou, pojednává o pojmu kariéra, o fázích jejího vývoje, dále o soudobých koncepcích kariéry, a to v souvislosti s mladou ženou, kdy předpokládám, že možnosti budovat kariéru jsou specifické v důsledku jejího přerušení z důvodu mateřství, což představuje nepříznivou pracovní situaci. Empirická část této práce zkoumá budování kariéry u mladých žen s ohledem na přítomnost nepříznivé pracovní situace, kterou respondentky subjektivně definují na základě vlastních zkušeností, které porovnávám s vymezením nepřízně z teoretické části práce. Jako výzkumný nástroj pro realizaci výzkumného šetření jsem zvolila polostrukturované rozhovory, které následně analyzuji a interpretuji. Cílem této práce je přispět k procesu definování etap vývoje přerušované kariéry mladých žen, které jsou v kontextu české literatury zmiňovány jen povrchně, nejčastěji jako dílčí výzkumné studie. Dále pak vymezit strategie, kterými mladé ženy budují svoji kariéru a to v kontextu nepříznivé pracovní situace.

Abstract:

Anotation: The thesis, entitled “The unfavourable employment situation of young women and its solution strategies” is divided into two parts, theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part, base for the empirical part, deals with the concept of career, phases of its development and modern concepts of career always in connection with a young woman. Dealing with the issue of consequences of interrupting career because of maternity I’m trying to define possibilities of building career. The empirical part of the thesis examines the strategy of the building a career of young women with respect to the unfavourable labour situation which is defined by respondents in accordance with their experience. As a research tool I have chosen semi-structured interviews which are further analysed and interpreted. The aim of my work is to contribute to define stages of career development of young women and strategy for building career of young women. The topic of young women in the context of their career is mentioned only rarely in the Czech literature, most often as the individual research studies. Therefore I hope that my results will benefit to further progress in the investigation of this issue.
