Fototrofné sírne baktérie sú dôležité mikroorganizmy kvôli ich schopnosti oxidovať anorganické sírne zlúčeniny a fotosyntetizovať bez produkcie kyslíka. Phototrophic sulfur bacteria are important microorganisms due to their ability to oxidize inorganic sulfur compounds and photosynthesise without producing oxygen.
