Problems water-power utilization on lower Elbe

Abstract:

V 50. letech 20. století se prioritním zájmem československého vodního hospodářství a energetiky stala výstavba velkých vodních elektráren. Dělo se tak na úkor předválečně vybudovaných malých vodních elektráren, které byly hodnoceny jako málo efektivní a postupně rušeny. V 70. letech minulého století se začala projevovat světová energetická krize, která dala impulz k rozvoji využívání vodní energie z malých vodních elektráren. Od 80. let jsou na našem území dříve zrušené malé vodní elektrárny obnovovány a výstavba nových je v plánu na větších řekách, v lokalitách s již soustředěným spádem. Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou využití hydroenergetického potenciálu dolního Labe. V tomto úseku řeky Labe je v současné době jediná vodní elektrárna, která je součástí vodního díla Střekov. Do roku 2012 se má uskutečnit výstavba malých vodních elektráren na stávajících zdymadlech dolního Labe. Tímto záměrem se Česká republika přiblíží požadavku Evropské unie, který se týká podílu vyžití elektrické energie z obnovitelných zdrojů.

Abstract:

In the 1950s it was the construction of major hydro-electric power plants that became the priority of the Czechoslovak water-supply management and power industry. This realization was, however, carried out to the detriment of small hydro-electric power plants built in the pre-war period, which were evaluated to be of little use and, thus, gradually eliminated. In the 1970s the world power crisis started to strike, providing an impetus for the development of use of hydropower from small hydro-electric power plants. Since the 1980s the previously eliminated small hydro-electric power plants have been renewed and the construction of new ones is planned to be realized on bigger rivers, in locations where the river velocity is already concentrated. The present bachelor's thesis deals with the questions concerning the use of the hydropower potential of the lower course of the river Elbe. Currently, in this part of the river Elbe there is one hydro-electric power plant, a part of the Strekov hydraulic structure. By the year 2012 the construction of small hydro-electric power plants at the existing locks of the lower course of the Elbe is to be realized. On the grounds of this plan the Czech Republic will come closer to the requirements set by the European Union concerning the share of use of electrical energy coming from renewable sources.
