The impact of sanctions on foreign trade and investment of the Russian Federation

Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce zkoumá vliv uvalení sankcí na zahraniční obchod a na investice Ruské federace. Práce především analyzuje dopad sankcí na vzájemný obchod a investiční vztahy mezi Ruskem a Evropskou Unií. Práce analyzuje jak celkovou situaci od zavedení sankcí, tak i dopady sankcí dle jednotlivých regionů EU a nejvýznamnějších zahraničních trhů daných komodit. V předkládané práci je kladen důraz na strategii adaptace ze strany RF vůči sankcím ,a to jak prostřednictvím zavedení politiky importní substituce a reorientace na jiné trhy, tak i využitím tranzitních trhů. Závěrem práce vyhodnocuje obchodní vztahy RF s ČR, představuje dopad sankcí na obchod mezi těmito zeměmi a vyznačuje hlavní možnosti dosažení úspěchu pro firmy pod tlakem sankčního režimu.

Abstract:

This thesis examines the effect of imposed sanctions on foreign trade and investments of the Russian Federation. The work primarily analyzes the impact of sanctions on mutual trade and investment relations between Russia and the European Union. The thesis analyzes the situation since the introduction of sanctions and the impact of sanctions on individual regions in EU and the most important foreign commodity markets. In the presented work, the emphasis is placed on the strategy of adaptation by the Russian Federation to sanctions, through the introduction of a policy of import substitution, reorientation to other markets, and the use of transit markets. Finally, the work evaluates the trade relations of the Russian Federation with the Czech Republic, presents the impact of sanctions on trade between these countries, and indicates the main opportunities for success for companies under the pressure of the sanction regime.
