Gender roles in contemporary family

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá genderovými rolemi mužů a žen v současné rodině. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části, na část teoretickou a na část praktickou. Teoretická část se věnuje vysvětlení základních pojmů, které se vztahují k danému tématu, jako jsou genderová identita, genderové role v historickém a kulturním kontextu a posouzení genderových stereotypů v dnešním manželství. Dále analyzuje současný stav participace žen a mužů na domácích pracích a hodnotí postavení pracujícího muže a ženy. Pozornost je také věnována rodině jako primární sociální skupině, současnému partnerskému vztahu, výchově dětí, vysoké rozvodovosti a následné výchově dětí osamělými rodiči. Praktická část se zaměřuje na kvalitativní výzkum formou rozhovoru, jehož cílem bylo zhodnotit současný stav genderových rolí v rodině, zda přetrvává stále tradiční model rodinného soužití nebo se již začínáme přibližovat k modelu moderního soužití. V závěru je nastíněn možný vývoj genderových rolí v české rodině.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is dealing with gender roles of men and women in present. Thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical part and practical part. Theoretical part explains basic terminology of this topic like gender identity, gender roles in historical and cultural context and assessment of gender stereotypes in marriage. Next, it analyses present state of participation of women and men in household chores and evaluates position of working man and woman. Attention is also payed to family as a primary social group, present relationship of partners, upbringing of children, high divorce rate and next upbringing of children by a single parents. Practical part concentrates on qualitative research through interview, whitch aim was to evaluate present state of gender roles in family, whether still traditional model of family life remains or if we start to draw near to the modern model. In conclusion is presented possible development of gender roles in czech family.
