Integration of foreign students into education at secondary vocational schools

Abstract:

Tato závěrečná práce se zaměřuje na začleňování žáků, kteří jsou z cizích zemí na odborné střední škole u nás v České republice. Zaměření bude především na to, jakým způsobem lze přizpůsobit vzdělávací procesy potřebám žáků s odlišným mateřským jazykem. Teoretická část vychází z odborných zdrojů, které se zabývají jazykovou bariérou mezi cizinci a českými žáky. Dále práce poskytuje informace o aktuální migraci v České republice, včetně nárůstu počtu přijatých žáků na střední školy a jejich přijímacích řízení. Cílem výzkumné části je zjistit pomocí kazuistiky a rozhovoru s vybranými žáky odlišného mateřského jazyka, jak se začlenili do systému střední školy u nás. Zda jsou přístupy a podpora v integraci ze strany České republiky dostatečná především v jazykové bariéře, která je největším problémem.

Abstract:

This final thesis focuses on the integration of pupils who are from foreign countries at a vocational high school here in the Czech Republic. The focus will be primarily on how educational processes can be adapted to the needs of pupils with a different mother tongue. The theoretical part is based on professional literature and articles, which primarily deals with the language barrier between foreigners and Czech students. Furthermore, the work provides information on current migration in the Czech Republic, including the increase in the number of students admitted to secondary school and their admissions procedures. The goal of the research part is to find out with the help of a case report and an interview with selected pupils of a different mother tongue, how they integrated into the secondary school system in our country. Whether the approaches and support in integration from the Czech Republic are sufficient, especially in the language barrier, which is the biggest problem.
