Risk management and strategies for reducing financial risks in the automotive industry: the case of Škoda Auto.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou řízení rizik a strategiemi snižování finančních rizik v automobilovém průmyslu na konkrétním příkladu společnosti Škoda Auto a.s. Automobilový průmysl je jedním z klíčových odvětví světové ekonomiky, které jsou vystaveny různým finančním rizikům vzhledem k fluktuacím cen surovin, změnám měnových kurzů, poptávce na trhu a dalším faktorům. Tato práce analyzuje strategie a postupy, které společnost Škoda Auto a.s. používá k identifikaci, kvantifikaci a snižování těchto rizik. První část práce se zaměřuje na teoretický rámec řízení finančních rizik, včetně rizik spojených s měnovými pohyby, cenami surovin a obchodním prostředím. Druhá část se věnuje konkrétním strategiím, které Škoda Auto a.s. implementuje ke snižování těchto rizik, včetně použití derivátů, hedgingu a strategického finančního plánování. Výzkum v této práci se opírá o reálná data a analýzu konkrétních případů z praxe společnosti Škoda Auto a.s. Výsledky této analýzy pomáhají zhodnotit úspěšnost a efektivnost použitých strategií v rámci snižování finančních rizik v automobilovém průmyslu. Tato práce přispívá k lepšímu pochopení důležitosti řízení rizik v tomto odvětví a může sloužit jako model pro další podniky v automobilovém průmyslu, kteří se snaží zlepšit svou finanční stabilitu a odolnost vůči rizikům.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the issue of risk management and strategies for reducing financial risks in the automotive industry on the specific example of Škoda Auto a.s. The automotive industry is one of the key sectors of the world economy that is exposed to various financial risks due to fluctuations in raw material prices, currency changes, market demand and other factors. This work analyses the strategies and procedures used by Škoda Auto a.s. to identify, quantify and reduce these risks. The first part of the thesis focuses on the theoretical framework of financial risk management, including risks associated with currency movements, raw material prices and the trading environment. The second part deals with specific strategies that Škoda Auto a.s. implements to reduce these risks, including the use of derivatives, hedging and strategic financial planning. The research in this work is based on real data and analysis of specific cases from Škoda Auto's a.s. practice. The results of this analysis help to evaluate the success and effectiveness of the strategies used to reduce financial risks in the automotive industry. This work contributes to a better understanding of the importance of risk management in the sector and can serve as a model for other businesses in the automotive industry who are looking to improve their financial stability and resilience to risks.
