The influence of watercourses regulations on runoff processes and the development of floods (a case study of the Košátecký stream)

Abstract:

Předkládaná práce se zabývá studiem antropogenně podmíněných změn prostředí říčních krajin a jejich dopadem na charakter odtokových procesů dotčené hydrografické sítě. Pozornost je věnována zejména analýze vztahu mezi environmentálními hodnotami nivních prostor a morfologickými parametry místních vodních toků. Informace o hydromorfologických vlastnostech koryta jsou následně využívány k vyjádření míry upravenosti, jako rozdílu mezi současným a potenciálně přirozeným stavem toku. Úpravy prostředí vodních toků jsou hodnoceny rovněž s cílem identifikace kritických lokalit povodí, náchylných ke vzniku extrémních vodních stavů. Na příkladu případové studie povodí Košáteckého potoka na Mělnicku je v rámci dané problematiky řešena také možnost renaturace ekohydrologických hodnot říční krajiny.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the study of anthropogenic conditional changes in the river landscapes environment and their impact on the nature of runoff processes of the hydrographic network. Attention is paid to analyze the relationship between environmental values of the floodplain area and morphological parameters of the local watercourses. Information about hydromorphological channel properties are subsequently used to express the degree of grooming, as the difference between the current and potential natural state of the stream. Modifications of the watercourses environment are also evaluated to identify critical sites of basin, susceptible to the emergence of extreme water levels. Under the issues is solved the possibility of restoring the ecohydrological values of river landscape, on the example of a case study in the drainage basin of the Košátecký brook in the Mělnicko region.
