The Sponsorship of the Children from Developing Countries: "Long Distance Adoption"

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá tématem sponzorování dětí z rozvojových zemí. První část je věnována teoretickému zakotvení tématu. Pozornost je soustředěna na témata chudoby, altruismu, dárcovství a vlivu vzdělání na život dětí. V práci se také objevuje přehled organizací, které zprostředkovávají sponzorování dětí. V následující části práce jsou analyzovány výsledky terénního výzkumu. Cílem bylo zjistit motivace sponzorů, kteří se rozhodli pro tento druh pomoci, a potvrdit nebo vyvrátit možnost vzniku citové vazby na dálku mezi sponzorem a sponzorovaným dítětem prostřednictvím výměny dopisů.

Abstract:

The work deals with the issue of child sponsorship from developing countries. The first part is devoted to theoretical anchoring theme. Attention is concentrated on themes of poverty, altruism, philanthropy and the impact of education on the lives of children. The work also appears survey of organizations that provide child sponsorship. In the following part of the work are analyzed the results of field research. The aim was to determine the motivations of the sponsors, who have decided for this type of assistance, and confirm or refute the possibility of emotional ties to the distance between the sponsor and the sponsored child through the exchange of letters.
