Mechanical and Electromagnetic Properties of Sandwich Elements

Abstract:

Kompozitní materiály jsou velmi perspektivní materiály, které nabízejí široké možnosti modifikace vlastností pro konkrétní aplikace. V této diplomové práci jsou popsány matrice a výztuže vhodné pro výrobu kompozitů, a také plniva, pomocí kterých lze modifikovat vlastnosti, a dále způsoby výroby kompozitních struktur. Dále se teoretická část zaměřuje na popis mechanického chování kompozitů, které je v některých ohledech odlišné od chování homogenních materiálů. Největší pozornost ale práce klade na vlastnosti kompozitů pod účinkem elektromagnetického pole a využitím sendvičových struktur jako materiálů využitelných pro elektromagnetické stínění. Součástí praktické části je výroba sendvičových panelů za použití kompozitních lamin s elektricky vodivými a magnetickými plnivy a hliníkových voštin použitých jako jádra. Tyto panely byly dále otestovány tříbodovou ohybovou zkouškou ke zjištění mechanických vlastností. Také byla prozkoumána účinnost elektromagnetickému stínění v daném frekvenčním rozsahu a na základě toho bylo určeno, zda konkrétní plniva v dané koncentraci splňují předpoklady pro využití v oblasti elektromagnetického stínění.

Abstract:

Composites are perspective materials that offer a wide range of possibilities for modifying properties for specific applications. The diploma thesis describes matrices and reinforcements suitable for the production of composites, as well as fillers, which can be used to modify properties. The thesis also deals with technologies of production of composite structures. The theoretical part focuses on the description of the mechanical behavior of composites, which is in some aspects different from the behavior of homogeneous materials. However, the work pays the greatest attention to the properties of composites under the influence of the electromagnetic field and the use of sandwich structures as materials usable for electromagnetic shielding. The practical part includes the production of sandwich panels using composite laminates with electrically conductive and magnetic fillers and aluminum honeycombs used as cores. The panels were tested by a threepoint bending test to determine their mechanical properties. The effeciency of electromagnetic shielding in a given frequency range was also examined. Based on this it was determined whether specific fillers in a given concentration meet the requirements for use in the field of electromagnetic shielding.
