A Cartographic Visualisation of Changes on Electronic Maps

Abstract:

The gradual expansion of electronic media has brought new principles of interaction and dynamics for cartography. Thanks to these media, the possibilities for Cartographers extended, what led to a number of methods for mapping changes, or spacetime. In the first part of this thesis, we talked about origin of this trend, then in recherche we reviewed relevant taxonomies. In the practical part, it was described the possibilities of processing chosen methods into web enviroment and then evaluated created maps according to definedd methodology. At the very end of the thesis we discussed the possibilities of appropriate usage of selected methods.

Abstract:

Postupné rozšíření elektronického média přineslo do kartografie nové principy dynamiky a interakce. Díky nim se možnosti kartografů rozšířily, čímž vzniklo i několik metod pro mapování změn a časoprostoru. Práce v úvodní části vysvětlí vznik tohto trendu a následně v rámci rešerše uvede přehled některých taxonomií. V praktické části jsou představeny možnosti zpracování vybraných metod do webového prostředí a tyto vytvořené mapy vyhodnoceny podle stanovené metodiky. V závěru se předložená práce pokusí odiskutovat možnosti vhodného použití jednotlivých metod.
