Workplace Gender Discrimination in Saudi Arabia: A Case Study of Hilton Hotels

Abstract:

Abstract Saudi Arabia has been a subject of debate regarding the status of women in the country. This paper examines the legal and social developments related to gender discrimination in the workplace in Saudi Arabia, particularly since the launch of Vision 2030 in 2016. Vision 2030 aims to diversify the economy and reduce the country’s dependence on oil exports. In line with this goal, the Saudi government has implemented various strategies and laws to increase women's participation in the economy. This study analyses the types and causes of gender discrimination and evaluates the impact of the Saudi government’s efforts on women in the workplace. Furthermore, it explores the effects of these changes on the hospitality industry, exploring positive developments and challenges that remain.
