Motivation of employees and its impact on business performance improvement

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá motivací zaměstnanců a jejím vlivem na zvyšování výkonnosti podniku, kterým se stala společnost působící v oblasti prodeje a výroby luxusních šperků v tuzemsku a v zahraničí. Cílem práce je provedení analýzy motivačních procesů ve vybrané společnosti, dále také vytvoření návrhu případných změn stávajícího motivačního systému pro zvýšení účinnosti motivace zaměstnanců v této firmě, následné zvýšení jejich výkonnosti a vyzdvižení významu motivace zaměstnanců. Teoretická část práce metodou literární rešerše shrnuje teoretické informace spojené s vybraným tématem. Zabývá se tak pojmy motivace, potřeb a motivů, zkoumá principy a zdroje motivace a vztah motivace a výkonu. Praktická část práce metodou dotazníkového šetření a řízeného rozhovoru s HR zaměstnancem vybrané firmy hodnotí současnou situaci týkající se motivace personálu. Na konci práce se uvádějí návrhy na zlepšení motivačního systému.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the motivation of employees and its influence on increasing the performance of the company, which became the company operating in the field of sale and production of luxury jewelry in the Czech Republic and abroad. The aim of the thesis is to analyze motivation processes in the selected company, as well as to create a proposal of possible changes to the existing motivation system to increase the efficiency of employee motivation in this company, to increase their performance and to emphasize the importance of employee motivation. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes the theoretical information related to the selected topic by the method of literary research. It deals with the concepts of motivation, needs and motives, explores the principles and sources of motivation and the relationship of motivation and performance. The practical part of the thesis uses a questionnaire survey and a controlled interview with the HR employee of the selected company to assess the current situation regarding staff motivation. At the end of the thesis there are suggestions for improvement of motivation system.
