Eye movements and their neurological management

Abstract:

Hlavním tématem bakalářské práce je neurologické řízení okohybných svalů, na němž závisí vývoj okohybného systému. Jeho nedostatečná funkce může vést k poruchám vidění a zhoršení kvality života pacientů. Pro pochopení tohoto tématu je věnována první kapitola anatomii okohybného aparátu a okohybných nervů. Druhá kapitola se zabývá očními pohyby a jejich klasifikací. Vyšetření očních pohybů je popsáno v kapitole třetí. Dále je věnována pozornost poruchám očních pohybů a následně jejich důsledkům. Poslední dvě kapitoly se zabývají paralytickým strabismem a jeho terapií. Cílem práce je přiblížit problematiku neurologického poškození okohybných svalů, možnosti diagnostiky i následné terapie.

Abstract:

The main topic of this thesis is the neurological control of the ocular muscles, on which the development of the ocular system depends. Its insufficient function can lead to visual disturbances and impair the quality of life of patients. To understand this topic, the first chapter is devoted to the anatomy of the optic apparatus and the optic nerves. The second chapter deals with eye movements and their classification. The examination of eye movements is devoted to the third chapter. The fourth chapter describe eye movement disorders and their consequences. The last two chapters are devoted to paralytic strabismus and its therapy. This work aims to describe the problems of neurological damage of ocular muscles, possibilities of diagnostics and subsequent therapy.
