Single mothers

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Osamělé matky“ má za cíl popsat životní situaci, ve které se žena v čele neúplné rodiny nachází a role, které musí zastávat. Obsahuje pojetí současné rodiny a její rozdělení. Je zde vysvětlen samotný pojem osamělá matka. Též se práce zaměřuje na pomoc osamělým matkám poskytující státem a samotným městem Brno, na systém dávek a jeho kritiku vybranými autory. V druhé části byl pomocí hloubkového polostrukturovaného rozhovoru proveden kvalitativní výzkum zaměřený na zodpovězení výzkumných otázek. Součástí je interpretace rozhovorů.

Abstract:

The Diploma Thesis "Single Mothers" is an outline of the lifestyle of a single mother and roles performed in an incomplete family. The commencement of the thesis defines a family - a basic social unit - and describes the characteristics of this social unit in modern society, following with an explanation of term and concept of a single mother. The thesis informs ways of assistance and financial support single mothers obtain from the council of Brno city. The outline of the benefit system is followed by critiques of selected authors. The second part of the thesis is dedicated to results of research conducted by in-depth semi-structured interview method. Finally, the interviews are interpreted and summarized in the conclusion.
