Bent furniture, development, categorization and trends

Abstract:

Tématem diplomové práce je zmapování historického vývoje ohýbaného nábytku, jeho kategorizace a trendy, kterými se bude tento typ nábytku v budoucnu ubírat. Praktická část je zaměřena na analýzu vybraných charakteristik ohybatelnosti zjišťovaných na alternativních materiálech, jako jsou desky ze smrkového a borovicového jehličí a konopné desky Hempwood, které by mohly být použity pro tento typ nábytku. Tyto materiály jsme následně porovnávaly se vzorky dřevotřískové desky laminované a v surovém stavu. Všechny testované vzorky byly upraveny nařezáním drážek, za účelem zvýšení jejich ohybatelnosti. Výsledky práce přinášejí rozšíření vědeckých a praktických poznatků, a to primárně v interiérové tvorbě a ve snižování množství negativních dopadů výrobku na životní prostředí.

Abstract:

The topic of diploma thesis is mapping of the historical development of bent furniture, categorization and the trends that this type of furniture will follow in the future. The practical part is focused on the analysis of selected characteristics of bending determined on alternative materials, such as boards made of spruce and pine needles and Hempwood hemp boards, which could be used for this type of furniture. We compared these materials with samples of chipboard laminated and in the raw state. All tested samples were modified by cutting grooves to increase their bendability. Results of the work bring the expansion of scientific and practical knowledge, primarily in interior design and in reducing the amount of negative impacts of the product on the environment.
