Parameter estimation for discrete biological models

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je poskytnou novou metodu pro automatizované prozkoumávání diskrétních biologických modelů, jejichž vlastnosti nejsou zcela specifikovány. Poskytujeme modelovací metody a algoritmy které umožňují provedení takzvané sytnézy parametrů, tedy procesu, který poskytne autorovi modelu takové hranice pro neznámé části daného modelu, že model vykazuje chování které jeho modelář požaduje. Dále poskytujeme detaily naší vlastní implemntace algoritmu pro syntézu parametrů a demonstrujeme možnosti této implementace na rozličných experimentech.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor work is to provide a new method for automated examination of discrete biological models whose behaviour is not completely specified. We provide modeling methods and algorithms that allow execution of so-called parameter synthesis, i.e., process that provides an author of a partially unknown model with boundaries for the unknown parts of the model so it exhibits behaviour the modeler is interested in. Later we show details of our own implementation of the parameter synthesis algorithms and demonstrate capabilities of this implementation on various experiments.
