Cinematography means of expression in the Friedrich W. Murnau's movie Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans with specific regard to scenes with unique studio/real amtosphere.

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá obrazovou stránkou filmu Východ slunce, i vzhledem k době svého vzniku naprosto unikátní. Těžištěm práce je zejména rozbor scén s jedinečnou atmosférou, která v tomto filmu vzniká díky kombinaci mnoha výrazových prostředků. Vě;řím, že se mi podařilo na následujících stránkách čtivou formou dostatečně vysvětlit a popsat tyto prostředky a to jak ve filmu samotném tak i v širším kontextu své doby.

Abstract:

This thesis considers visual style of the film Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans which is unique also due to the year of its production. The essence of this work lies especially in analysing the scenes with specific atmosphere which is created by the combination of various means of expression. I believe that on following pages I have managed to explain these means sufficiently regarding the movie itself as well as the whole context of an era.
