Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá městem jako literárním prostorem a určuje jeho roli v literatuře. Teoretická část pojednává o možnostech tohoto literárního prostoru a jeho zásahu do příběhu a chování postav. V praktické části jsou tyto poznatky aplikovány na díla Miky Waltariho, která se odehrávají v Helsinkách či na ně odkazují. Kromě objektů, které se v literárních Helsinkách Miky Waltariho objevují, se praktická část zabývá také životem obyvatel Helsinek a vesnicí jako prostředkem ke kritice města.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the city as a literary place and defines its role in literature. The theoretical part is focused on options of this literary space and its position in the story itself and in the character´s behaviour. In the practical part are those pieces of knowledge applied to Mika Waltari´s works, whose story is placed to Helsinki or works which are refering to this city. Not only the practical part is focused on the objects, that are situated in Waltari´s literary Helsinki, it´s also dealing with the inhabitants of Helsinki and their life in the capital and also village as a possibility to criticise the city.
