The effect of mentoring on a beginning teacher in the adaptation process

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje účinku mentoringu na začínajícího učitele v adaptačním procesu, zároveň hledá, zdali je současný mentoring opravdu smysluplný a neuvádí zbytečně profesně mladé pedagogy do stresových situací s přihlédnutím na jejich osobnost věk a vzdělání rodičů. Teoretická část je rozdělena do tří kapitol. První pojednává o učitelích obecně, následující dvě podkapitoly nastiňují problematiku učitele začátečníka a učitele experta, který by mohl a ve většině případů i plní funkci mentora. V další kapitole teoretické části je rozebrán adaptační proces: jeho funkce, význam, nástroje a alternativy. Poslední kapitola konkrétně rozebírá uvádějícího učitele jako mentora, jeho kvalifikaci, podoby, význam v práci pedagoga a současné trendy. Praktická část této diplomové práce je zaměřená na provedení podrobné analýzy dat z dotazníku vlastní konstrukce. Cílem práce bylo zjistit, jak důležitou funkci má adaptace spolu s mentoringem na začínající učitele. Jak moc jsou ve stresu před a po adaptaci, jak působí pracovní zaučení na různé osobnostní ladění respondentů. Některé tyto jevy jsou statisticky popsány a prověřeny, tímto se mohou stát vodítkem každého budoucího učitele nebo naopak částečným návodem pro uvádějícího učitele - mentora.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis focuses on the effect of mentoring on a novice teacher in the adaptation process; at the same time it seeks to find whether the current mentoring is really meaningful and does not unnecessarily put novice teachers into stressful situations, taking into account their personality, their age and the education of their parents. The theoretical part is divided into three chapters. The first one deals with teachers in general, the following two subchapters outline the issue of a beginner teacher and an expert teacher who could fulfil the function of a mentor. In the next chapter of the theoretical part, the adaptation process is discussed: its function, meaning, tools and alternatives. The last chapter specifically discusses the introducing teacher as a mentor, his qualifications, forms, importance in the work of the teacher and current trends. The practical part of this thesis is focused on a detailed analysis of data from a questionnaire of my own design. The aim of the thesis was to find out how important the function of adaptation together with mentoring to novice teachers is; how stressed they are before and after adaptation, and how work training affects the different personality tunings of respondents. Some of these phenomena are statistically described and verified, thus they can become a guide for every future teacher or, on the contrary, a partial guide for the mentor teacher mentor.
