Boycott of the XXIII. Olympiad in Los Angeles and what preceded it
Abstract:
Tato bakalářská práce se snaží zachytit události, které provázely bojkoty olympijských her v Moskvě v roce 1980 a v Los Angeles v roce 1984, tak, jak byly reflektovány československým tiskem. Pokouší se je zasadit do probíhající studené války a tehdejších sovětsko - amerických vztahů. Součástí práce je i stručná zmínka o dalších olympiádách, ovlivněných dobovou politickou situací.
Abstract:
The bachelor thesis tries to notice the events that accompanied boycotts of the Olympic Games in Moscow in 1980 and in Los Angeles 1984 as they where reflected by Czechoslovak press. The thesis tries to set them into the ongoing Cold War and Soviet - American relations. A brief mention of other Olympics influeced by political situation at their is also a part of the thesis.
