The Potencial of Taal Volcanic Lake area towards the Declaration of a Geopark

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá potenciálem lokality vulkanického jezera Taal a jeho okolím a následné deklaraci území jako geoparku. Koncept geoturismu a geoparků je blíže popsán na základě literární rešerše. Práce vyzdvihuje potenciál a jedinečnost území na základě zpracované charakteristiky a SWOT analýzy. Práce definuje předpoklady vyhlášení geoparku dle obecných postupů deklarace získaných na základě existujících geoparků a dle oficiálních kritérií organizace UNESCO, která zaštiťuje Globální síť geoparků. Metodika používá analýzu, kategorizaci a následnou implementaci získaných informací do návrhové části práce s použitím benchmarkingu. Výstupem práce je návrh kroků potřebných pro fungování a následné deklaraci lokality jako geoparku.

Abstract:

This master thesis focuses on a potencial of the volcano lake Taal in the Philippines and its surroundings towards a declaration of the geopark. Concept of geotourism and geoparks is described on the basis of the literature research. Thesis picks up the potencial and the uniqueness of this area on the basis of its characteristics and SWOT analysis. This thesis defines the assumptions of the geopark declaration according to the general knowledge in the process of a geopark declaration through the practice of existing geoparks and further according to the quotas of the UNESCO and th Global Geoparks Network. Processing methodology uses the collection, categorization and subsequent implementation of the obtained information into the practical part of the thesis with the use of benchmarking. The output of this master thesis is a draft of the necessary steps towards functioning and follow-up declaring this area as a geopark.
