Gender in the Area of the Education on a Basic School: Comparison of Boys' and Girls' Activity in Civics Instruction at Basic Schools

Abstract:

Předkládaná disertační práce se zabývá problematikou genderu, a hlavně vlivem genderu v oblasti vzdělávání, kterou propojuje s tematikou aktivity žáků projevující se v komunikaci a interakci s pedagogem a spolužáky ve vyučovací hodině, tedy participaci na pedagogické komunikaci ve vyučovací hodině. Hlavním cílem práce je přispět ke zjištění, zda existuje vztah mezi pohlavím žáka, mírou aktivity v předmětu občanská výchova a aktivizační činností učitele. Čímž je myšleno, zda existuje vztah mezi pohlavím žáka, mírou aktivity a vyučovacím předmětem a také jestli jsou chlapci a dívky povzbuzováni ke komunikaci vyučujícím ve stejné míře. Aktivita ve výzkumném šetření je pojímána jako participace na pedagogické komunikaci a samostatná práce žáků. Ve výzkumu si nevšímáme pouze toho, zda a jak dlouho žák mluví, ale také obsahu jeho replik. Při zkoumání obsahu žákových replik rozlišujeme, čeho se žákova replika týká (zdali jde o repliku týkající se právě probíraného učiva, repliku týkající se organizačních záležitostí či společenskou konverzaci nesouvisející s právě probíraným učivem). Také zkoumáme aktivizační činnost učitele, přičemž se zaměřujeme na rozdíly v míře aktivizace dívek a chlapců učitelem a na povzbuzování dívek a chlapců k participaci na pedagogické komunikaci ze strany učitele. K naplnění cíle výzkumného šetření byla použita kvantitativní metoda standardizovaného pozorování, technika interakční analýzy. Kategorie pozorovacího systému byly vytvořeny z pozorovacích systémů N.A.Flanderse, K.S.Tabera a indexu pro výpočet míry aktivity žáka a míry aktivizační činnosti učitele od J.Maňáka.

Abstract:

The work deals with differents between women and men, the origin of this difference, gender and its influence in the area of the education. In the part of research we compare an activity of boys and girls in a tuition of civics on the basic school. We compared activity (activity of boys and girls is understood as participation of boys and girls in comunication in a tutition and pupils´ independent work) of boys and girls in civics instruction at second stage of basic school and teacher-pupil interaction and communication of the teacher with boys and girls in the process of school teaching. We mean that an activity is how many times a pupil (boy or girl) say something in a tuition of civics, how long his/her address takes and we also describe a contents of the address and pupils´ independent work. When we searched communication of the teacher with boys and girls in the process of school teaching we focused on the influence of the teacher on the activity of boys and girls, we focused on teacher’s prompts to pupils in a lesson, his/her activating methods. To gain tangible data a quantitative method of standardised observation, specifically the method of interaction analysis was chosen. The following categories of the observation system are based on the observation systems by N.A. Flanders, K.S. Taber and on the formula for pupil’s activity index by J. Maňák.
