Commented translation of a non-literary text from Spanish into Czech, field: social science

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is a translation of an academic text from field of social sciences from Spanish to Czech and its subsequent analysis. We have divided this paper into four parts. In the first chapter we are occupied by the translation of the source text. The second chapter is dedicated to the analysis of the source text and we also describe the fundamental linguistic and non-linguistic features. In the third chapter we analyze the process of the translation of the professional terminology, and we present utilized translation transformations. In the last chapter we focused on a selected linguistic phenomenon - linking words. Our objective was to describe this phenomenon from the theoretic point of view of both languages and subsequently analyze the concordances and variances that occurred during the translation. We came to the conclusion that most of the cases showed similarities and we attribute the differences merely to the different systematic categorization of both languages.

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je překlad odborného textu z oblasti sociálních věd ze španělského jazyka do češtiny a jeho následná analýza. Práce je rozdělena do čtyř kapitol. V první kapitole se věnujeme překladu výchozího textu. Druha kapitola je věnována překladové analýze výchozího textu a popisujeme v ní základní jazykové i nejazykové charakteristiky textu. Ve třetí kapitole rozebíráme proces překladu odborné terminologie a také uvádíme využité překladové transformace. V poslední kapitole této diplomové práce jsme se zaměřili na zvolený jazykový jev - jazykové konektory. Naším cílem bylo popsat tento jev z teoretického hlediska obou jazyků a následně analyzovat shody a rozdíly při překladu. Došli jsme k závěru, že ve většině případu dochází ke shodám a rozdíly, ke kterým při překladu došlo, připisujeme pouze odlišné systematické kategorizaci u obou jazyků.
