Set-up Spaces - Art of Intervetion As Means of Commenting on Urbanism and Architecture

Abstract:

Z dlouhodobého hlediska je patrné, že v rámci architektury a urbanismu dochází skrze ekonomický růst k zásadním změnám ve výstavbě uvnitř měst, v jejich okolí (rapidně se rozšiřující předměstí) a v krajině. Ve valné většině případů jsou tyto změny nevratné a jsou úzce navázány na problematiku využití zdrojů. Ve vztahu k umění a prostorové tvorbě ve vybraných případech úzce souvisejících s architekturou je mým záměrem poukázat na hrozbu neudržitelnosti hospodářské a průmyslové činnosti a na dopady s tím spojené a na konkrétních příkladech jak mezinárodních, tak domácích realizací tvůrců, tvůrkyň a kolektivů ilustrovat, jaká řešení či postoje lze nacházet. V praktické části shrnu výběr nejzásadnějších realizací a završující výstavní projekt, jehož aspekty souvisí s kontextem místa, podmínkami pro život zahrnující zvířata a rostliny, otázkami udržitelnosti, lokálnosti, zdroje surovin, upcyclingu, přepravy a na hledisko vztahu ke krajině a otevření možností uvažování o experimentu či nových formách, o něž ve své autorské tvorbě dlouhodobě usiluji.

Abstract:

In the long term, it is apparent that architecture and urbanism are undergoing fundamental changes through economic growth in construction within cities, in their surroundings (rapidly expanding suburbs), and in the landscape. In the vast majority of cases, these changes are irreversible and are closely linked to the issue of resource use. In relation to art and spatial creation in selected cases closely related to architecture, my intention is to highlight the threat of unsustainability of economic and industrial activity and the impacts associated with it, and to illustrate what solutions or attitudes can be found through concrete examples of both international and local projects by artists, makers and collectives. In the practical part, I will summarize a selection of the most significant realizations and a final exhibition project, aspects of which are related to the context of the site, the conditions for life involving animals and plants, issues of sustainability, localness, the source of raw materials, upcycling, transportation, and to the aspect of the relationship with the landscape and the opening up of possibilities for thinking about experimentation or new forms, which I have long sought in my work as an artist.
