Motives in works of Jun-ichiro Tanizaki

Abstract:

Tato práce zkoumá motivy v dílech japonského spisovatele jménem Džun’ičiró Tanizaki (1886–1965). Řídí se souborem esejí „A Tanizaki Feast“, ze kterého jsou vybrány čtyři motivy: modernizace Japonska, motiv matky, erotiky nebo fetišismu, a nemoci. Při výzkumu a analýze Tanizakiho děl se pokusím najít další typické motivy a zodpovím na výzkumnou otázku: Jaké motivy obsahují díla spisovatele Džun’ičiró Tanizakiho? A dále: Který z motivů se ve vybraných dílech vyskytuje nejčastěji? Které dílo obsahuje nejvíce motivů a může být nazváno nejtypičtějším dílem Džun’ičiró Tanizakiho?

Abstract:

This thesis explores motives in the works of Japanese writer Jun’ichirō Tani-zaki (1886–1965). It is led by a collection of essays called ‘A Tanizaki Feast’. From the collection four themes are chosen: the modernization of Japan, the mother, the erotica and fetishism, and the diseases. During the research and analysis, I will find other typical themes and answer the research question: What motives can be found in the works of Jun’ichirō Tanizaki? And: Which of the motives is the most frequent among Tanizaki’s work? What work contains most of the motives and thus can be called the most typical work of Jun’ichirō Tanizaki?
