Analysis of efficiency and optimization of organizational structure in selected organization

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá příčinami neefektivit organizační struktury ve vybrané organizaci, přičemž jejím cílem je kromě identifikace těchto příčin návrh vlastních doporučení, jejichž aplikace by měla zajistit optimalizaci této vybrané organizační struktury. Nejprve tato práce nabízí teoretické vymezení daného tématu, kdy se zabývá nejen organizační strukturou jako takovou, ale také jejím vztahem k různým aspektům organizačního života, jako chování, prostředí atd. Kromě toho je představena také typologie organizační struktury a stručné shrnutí jednotlivých výhod a nevýhod, a to za pomoci detailního schématu. Práce se dále zabývala metodologií výzkumného šetření, přičemž představila cíl práce, kterým bylo zodpovězení hlavní výzkumné otázky, jenž zní „Jaké jsou příčiny neefektivity organizační vybrané struktury a jaké kroky lze identifikovat pro potřeby její optimalizace?“ Kromě toho byly v této kapitole představeny i dílčí výzkumné otázky, způsob výběru jednotlivých případů, operacionalizace výzkumných otázek a obecně všechny náležitosti, které si návrh výzkumu žádá, včetně výzkumné metody, kdy bylo v tomto případě užito kvalitativních polostrukturovaných výzkumných rozhovorů. Díky následným odpovědím na dílčí výzkumné otázky bylo dále možné odpovědět i na hlavní výzkumnou otázku a odhalit tak příčiny neefektivnosti organizační struktury. Toto zjištěné pak bylo nezbytné k realizaci posledního kroku této práce, a to vytvoření konkrétních doporučení, která umožní optimalizaci organizační struktury vybrané organizace.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the reasons of inefficiency of the organizational structure in the selected organization. The aim of this diploma thesis is to identify these reasons and to bring own recommendations whose application should ensure an optimization of this selected organizational structure. This work firstly offers a theoretical definition of the given topic and deals not only with the organizational structure itself but also its relation to various aspects of an organizational life, such as behaviour, environment, etc. There is also presented a brief summary of a typology of the organizational structure. This thesis further deals with a methodology of the research, which whereby offered the aim of the work, i.e. the answer to the main research question: „What are the reasons of the inefficiency of the organizational structure in the selected organization and what steps can be identified for an optimization?" This chapter thereafter presents partial research questions, selection method of the research cases, the operationalization of research questions, and in general all the elements required by the research proposal including a research method where qualitative half-structured research interviews were used for that case. Thanks to the answers to the partial research questions, it was possible to answer the main research question and thus to reveal the causes of the inefficiency of the organizational structure. This was necessary for the final step of this work which is to create specific recommendations to optimize the organizational structure in the selected organization.
