Changes in bending stress in thick veneer stripes due to thermal stress

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na ohybové zkoušky silných dýhových hran. Dýhy jsou skladovány v „nekonečných“ rolích o různých průměrech. Díky tomu je dýha vystavena rádiusu, který vytváří v dýze vnitřní napětí, a to muže ovlivnit lepený spoj.Pnutí muže výrazně ovlivnit kvalitu výrobků například při exportu nábytku v letních měsících, kde v přepravních kontejnerech muže být až o 20 °C více než v okolním prostředí. Dýhy se na dílec přilepují pomocí tavných lepidel, které při zvýšení teploty, dočasně ztrácí svou lepivost. Díky tomu může dojít k odlepení dýhových hran od dílce. Zkušební vzorky byly teplotně namáhány na -30, 23, 30, 40, 50, 60 a 70 °C. Napětí se zjišťovalo na šesti různých dřevinách, a to na borovici, buku, dubu, jasanu, javoru a wengé. Na závěr byl zhodnocen vliv teploty na napětí a vzájemně se porovnaly jednotlivé dřeviny.d

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis is focused on bending tests of strong veneer edges. Veneers are stored in "endless" roles of different diameters. As a result, the is veneer exposed to a radius which produces internal tension in the veneer, and that can affect the glued joint.The tention can greatly affect the quality of products, for example when exporting furniture in summer months, where transport containers can be up to 20 ° C more than in surrounding environment. Veneers are glued to a furniture part by hot melt adhesives, which temporarily loses their stickiness when raising the temperature. As a result, the veneer edges may detatch from the furniture part.The test samples were tested in thermal conditions at -30, 23, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70 ° C. The tension was being detected on a six different trees, namely pine, beech, oak, ash, maple and wenge. Eventually, the influence of the temperature on the tention was evaluated and the individual sample were compared.
