Subjective experience of the disease of a patient with polycystic kidney disease

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce bylo zjistit a popsat subjektivni? prožívání pacienta s polycystickou chorobou ledvin. V praktické části je vypracována kazuistika vybraného pacienta trpícím tímto onemocněním. Subjektivní prožívání pacienta je popsáno chronologicky od prvních vzpomínek na nemoc až po současný stav pacienta. Metodou zajištění informací a dat byl polostandardizovaný individuální rozhovor, metoda pozorování a získávání informací o zdravotním stavu pacienta skrze zdravotnickou dokumentaci. Na základě poznatků byla kazuistika segmentována do období dle vývojové psychologie. Je posouzeno subjektivní vnímání nemoci v průběhu rozhovorů s pacientem a následovně provedena analýza prostřednictvím vývojové psychologie na základě Erika Homburgera Eriksona a Marie Vágnerové. V této práci lze pozorovat unikátní případ pacienta s autozomálně dominantní polycystickou chorobou ledvin a jeho prožívání. Na základě vybraných studií na téma psychosociální stránky chronického onemocnění ledvin bylo zjištěno, že pacienti nedostávají dostatečné informace o průběhu nemoci a necítí se být podporováni svým praktickým lékařem. Byly vypozorovány pocity úzkosti, beznaděje či deprese mezi pacienty a strach z nevyzpytatelného průběhu nemoci. Je důležité věnovat se péči z multidisciplinárního hlediska, sledovat také psychickou stránku pacienta a navést jej na vhodné terapeutické metody.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelors thesis was to determine and describe the subjective experience of a patient with polycystic kidney disease. In the practical part, a case report of a selected patient suffering from this disease is prepared. The patient's subjective experience is described chronologically from the first memories of the disease to the current state of the patient. The method of securing information and data was a semi-standardized individual interview, a method of observation and obtaining information about the patient's health status through medical documentation. Based on the findings, the case study was segmented into periods according to developmental psychology. The subjective perception of the disease during interviews with the patient is assessed and subsequently analyzed through developmental psychology based on Erik Homburger Erikson and Marie Vágnerová. In this work, a unique case of a patient with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease and their experience can be observed. Based on selected studies on the psychosocial side of chronic kidney diseases, it was found that patients do not receive sufficient information about the course of the disease and do not feel supported by their general practitioner. Feelings of anxiety, hopelessness or depression among patients and fear of an unpredictable course of the disease were observed. It is important to pay attention to the patient from a multidisciplinary point of view, also to monitor the psychological side of the patient and guide him to appropriate therapeutic methods.
