Impact of Electric Vehicles on the Environment

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce zkoumá dopad elektromobilů na životní prostředí. V teoretické části se věnuje historii elektromobilů, typologii podle pohonu, technologiím baterií a jejich recyklaci a infrastruktuře pro dobíjení. Metodická část se soustředí na hodnocení životního cyklu Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), posuzuje celkový dopad elektromobilů na životní prostředí od výroby přes používání až po recyklaci. V praktické části porovnává LCA studie elektromobilů a vozidel s vnitřním spalováním, s důrazem na emise CO2 a celkové náklady, zkoumá vliv životnosti vozidla, uhlíkové intenzity elektřiny, poukazuje na potenciál elektromobilů snižovat výfukové emise a zdůrazňuje význam lokality a externích nákladů.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis examines the impact of electric vehicles on the environment. The theoretical part focuses on the history of electric vehicles, typology according to propulsion, battery technologies and their recycling, and infrastructure for charging. The methodological section concentrates on the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) evaluation, assessing the overall impact of electric vehicles on the environment from production to use and recycling. The practical part compares LCA studies of electric vehicles and internal combustion engine vehicles, emphasizing CO2 emissions and total costs, examines the influence of vehicle lifespan, electricity carbon intensity, highlights the potential of electric vehicles to reduce emissions, and stresses the importance of location and external costs.
