Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the development, economic significance, and communication aspects of active tourism in Nepal, with attention to the role of foreign language proficiency. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the significance of active tourism in Nepal and to examine how the ability to communicate in foreign languages affects the quality of services and the overall satisfaction of tourists. The theoretical part of the thesis is based on a review of books, academic articles, and official reports published by the Government of Nepal and various international organizations. The practical part combines the analysis of statistical data from tourism authorities with a questionnaire survey conducted with international tourists, focusing on their interaction with guides and other tourism service providers. The thesis shows that active tourism is an important part of Nepal’s tourism profile and that communication and language skills play a vital role in the quality of tourist experience.
