Households and firms indebtedness, typical behaviour in a time of financial crisis

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnovala problematice zadlužení českých domácností a firem. K získání dat byly použity údaje České národní banky, Českého statistického úřadu a dalších institucí. Práce hodnotí dlouhodobý vývoj zadluženosti českých domácností a firem v období 1994-2010. Zaměřuje se na strukturu zadluženosti. Srovnává zadlužení českých domácností se zadlužením v zahraničí, zejména pak se státy Evropské unie. Pojednává o důsledcích zadlužení, které mohou vést k exekucím či osobním bankrotům.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of indebtedness of Czech households and firms. The data and figures were used from sources of the Czech National Bank, the Czech Statistical Office and other institutions. This paper evaluates the long-term development of indebtedness of Czech households and firms in the period 1994-2010. It is focused on the structure of debt and it compares the indebtedness of Czech households with indebtedness in other countries, especially within the European Union. It discusses the implications of debt which may lead to executions or personal bankruptcies.
