Abstract:

Plastika Odvaha Jaroslava Róny byla odhalena v Brně, na Moravském náměstí, 28. října 2015. Byla vztyčena na počest významné osobnosti moravské a říšské politiky středověku – Jošta Lucemburského. Stala se novou dominantou tohoto veřejného prostoru. Bakalářská práce se zabývá plastikou z hlediska formálního, ikonografického, reflektuje její procesuální začlenění do veřejného prostoru. Zabývá se otázkou původnosti díla, jeho umístění a jeho polohou v kontextu tvorby Jaroslava Róny. Zkoumá funkci plastiky z hlediska jejího možného působení jako monumenta. Práce je zaměřena především na plastiku samu, problematiku díla ve veřejném prostoru řeší pouze okrajově, respektujíc status quo. Cílem autora bylo vyrovnat se reflektivně s dílem vzniklým v relativně nedávné minulosti a postihnout okolnosti vzniku díla klasické výtvarné povahy.

Abstract:

The sculpture called Courage (Odvaha) by Jaroslav Róna was unveiled in Brno on the Moravské square on the 28th of October 2015. It was erected in tribute to the significant personality of Moravian and empire politics of the Middle Ages – of Jobst of Luxembourg. It became the new dominant of this public space. The Bachelor’s thesis concerns itself with the sculpture from the formal and iconographic point of view, it reflects its gradual integration into public space. It deals with the issue of originality of the work, its placement and its position in the context of the creations of Jaroslav Róna. It explores the function of the statue with respect of its possible effect as a monument. The thesis focuses in particular on the sculpture itself and discusses the issue of a work of art in public space only marginally, while respecting the status quo. The aim of the author was to reflectively deal with works of art that originated in the relatively recent past and to capture the circumstances of the origin of a piece of classic visual nature.
