The importance of stress in the pathogenesis of atopic eczema

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá vztahem stresu a atopického ekzému. Zpracovává problematiku s využitím poznatků z oborů neurobiologie, psychologie, dermatologie a imunologie. Vliv stresu je pozorován u jedinců vystavených stresovým situacím. Dnešní doba je zaměřená na výkon a efektivitu, kdy jsou na lidi kladena vysoká očekávání, a proto se mnozí cítí stále víc pod tlakem s pocitem vyčerpání. Během posledních let došlo ke zvýšení prevalence jednoho z nejčastějších kožních onemocnění, kterým je atopický ekzém. Pacienti s atopickým ekzémem mají větší problémy se zvládáním stresu než zdraví jedinci, mohou trpět úzkostnými či depresivními stavy. Naopak u jedinců s narušenou psychikou může dojít buď ke vzniku atopického ekzému, nebo k jeho zhoršení u již existujícího onemocnění. Cílem této rešeršní práce je shrnout dosud známé poznatky z české i zahraniční literatury a ucelit tak vědomosti o této problematice

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the relationship between stress and atopic eczema. It deals with the issue using knowledge from the fields of neurobiology, psychology, dermatology and immunology. The influence of stress is observed in individuals exposed to stressful situations. Today´s period are performance and efficiency oriented, with high expectations placed on people, and many of them feel increasingly pressured with feelings of exhaustion. Over the last few years there has been an increase in the prevalence of one of the most common skin conditions, which is atopic eczema. Patients with atopic eczema have more difficulty coping with stress than healthy individuals and may suffer from anxiety or depressive states. Conversely, individuals with disturbed psyches may either develop atopic eczema or exacerbate an existing condition. The aim of this review is to summarize the known findings from the Czech and foreign literature and to consolidate the knowledge on this issue.
