The basic and high school's teachers attitude to talented children and to their education

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá vlivem zkušenosti u učitelů a studentů pedagogických fakult se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami žáků na postoj k rozumově nadaným žákům a k jejich vzdělávání. Přičemž zkoumá i další možné vlivy na tyto postoje, a to národnost (česká a slovenská) a typ školy (u učitelů) nebo stupeň školy (u studentů). Teoretická část nabízí několik pohledů na dosavadní zjištění o postojích k nadaným a věnuje se i charakteristikám nadaných, které mohou být asociovány s možnými problémy. Cílem výzkumné části bylo zjistit, zda-li zkušenost se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami žáků ovlivňuje postoj k rozumově nadaným a k jejich vzdělávání. Související hypotézy byly testovány na vzorku 696 respondentů. K testování byl využit zahraniční dotazník. K analýze byla použita logistická regrese a neparametrický Mann-Whitneyův test. Ani jedna ze zkoumaných hypotéz se nepotvrdila, přičemž se neukázal jako signifikantní ani vliv národnosti, typ nebo stupeň školy. Na závěr jsme orientačně porovnávali postoje amerických, českých a slovenských studentů, přičemž se jejich postoje k nadaným příliš nelišili. Výzkum poukázal na určité skutečnosti, které by bylo vhodné ověřit v dalších empirických šetřeních. V závěru práce jsou uvedena doporučení pro praxi.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the effect of experience of teachers and students of the Faculties of Education with special educational needs of pupils on attitude to intellectually gifted pupils and to their education. It also deals with other effects on these attitudes, namely nationality (Czech and Slovak) and type of school (regarding teachers) or grade of school (regarding students). The theoretical part offers several views on previous findings about attitudes to gifted pupils and devotes also to the characteristics of the gifted, which can be associated with possible problems. The aim of the empirical part was to find out if the experience with special educational needs of pupils influence attitude to the intellectually gifted and to their education. Related hypothesis were examined on sample of 696 participants. Foreign questionnaire was used for examination. Logistic regression and nonparametric Mann-Whitney test were used for analysis. None of the investigated hypotheses has been confirmed and it has proved that there is no significant effect of nationality, type of school or grade of school. Finally, we compared the attitudes of American, Czech and Slovak students, and their attitudes to the gifted do not differ very much. This research has pointed out certain facts that could be verified in further empirical investigations. The conclusion of this thesis gives recommendations for practice.
