Economic Consequences of German Unification

Abstract:

Politické a ekonomické rozdělení Německa nebylo důsledkem druhé světové války, ale války studené. Bylo především následkem rivality západu a východu. Mnoho let zůstal problém německého znovusjednocení podřízen otázce světového míru. Ten, kdo však za tento stav platil, byli ti, kteří zůstali pod socialistickým vedením. A tak se na 40 let cesty východního a západního Německa rozdělily a poté se znovu sešly po pádu Berlínské zdi v důsledku krize zemí východního bloku 9. 11. 1989. V roce 2009 Němci velkolepě oslavili 20. výročí znovusjednocení Německa, ale ani po dvaceti letech rozdíly v životní úrovni mezi starými spolkovými zeměmi a novými spolkovými zeměmi zcela nezmizely. Cílem této diplomové práce je zhodnocení ekonomických důsledků znovusjednocení Německa.

Abstract:

Political and economic division of Germany was not the result of the Second World War but the Cold War. It was due mainly to the East and West rivalry. For many years, remained subordinate to the problem of German reunification question of world peace. He, however, who paid for this state, were those who remained under socialist leadership. And so the journey to 40 years of East and West Germany divided and then reunited after the fall of the Berlin Wall in the crisis countries of East block 9.11.1989. In 2009, the Germans celebrated the grand 20th anniversary of the reunification of Germany, but even after twenty years of differences in living standards between old and new Federal States Länder entirely disappeared. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the economic consequences of German reunification.
