Abstract:
The aim of this thesis is to examine the changes in the accents of the Beatles in their speech and their songs. The thesis introduces Liverpool English (also called Scouse) and then compares how much it appeared in the speech of the Beatles in the 1960s to the later decades by conducting a comparative analysis of various interviews with a focus on salient phonetic features of Scouse.
