Prosodic Analysis of Text

Abstract:

Předmětem této diplomové práce je analýza, jejímž cílem je popsat prozodické vlastnosti textu Učebnice čínské konverzace, konkrétně textů oddílů 1D 24D. Anylýza je koncipována na kompletní prozodické analýze provedené v souboru studií prof. Ph.Dr. Oldřicha Švarného, CSc. Prozodická transkripce je aplikována na jednotlivé texty lekcí a je doplněna o přepis do čínských znaků a překlad do češtiny. V praktické části jsou pak v návazných oddílech klasifikovány a kvantifikovány vyskytující se prozodické jevy. Jádrem výzkumu segmentů a kól je jejich rozčlenění na rytmické sledy akronymické, ascendentní, descendentní nebo jiné. Závěrem je shrnutí a zobecnění charakteristik těchto sledů ve sledovaném rozsáhlém vzorku, vedoucí k pochopení prozodického systému současné čínštiny.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to analyse and describe the prosodic characteristics of the text of the Chinese Conversation Textbook, specifically the units 1D 24D. The provided analysis is based on the complex prosodic analysis discussed in the collection of studies written by prof. Ph. Dr. Oldřich Švarný, CSc. Prosodic transcription is applied to the particular chapters. In addition, the analysis is supported by a transcription of Chinese characters and a translation into Czech. The empirical part of the thesis focuses on classification and quantification of the prosodic features in the subsequent sections. Core of the research of segments and colons is to divide them to rhythmic sequences as acronymic, ascendant, descendent or others. Conclusion of the thesis is summary and generalization of the characteristic of sequences in extensive analyzed sample. The analyse can help us to understand the prosodic system of the contemporary Chinese language.
