Czech Minority Education in the Sokolov and Cheb Region in 1920s and 1930s

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá českou menšinou v oblasti Sokolovska a Chebska ve 20. a 30. letech 20. století. Nastíněny jsou česko-německé vztahy, soužití obou národností a život české menšiny. Sledovány jsou již první snahy o založení českých škol a poté jsou popsána první zřizování těchto škol a jejich činnost. Větší kapitolu tvoří česká obecná a měšťanská škola v Sokolově. Jsou přiblíženy životy významných osobností, které ovlivňovaly kulturní život menšiny. Součástí práce je také popis školství za první republiky a po roce 1938, kdy menšinové školy zanikly.

Abstract:

The work is occupied by Czech minority in the area Sokolov and Cheb in the years 20 ? 30 in the 20th century. The work is followed Czech and German relations, coexistence together and life of Czech minority. The work describe first efforts for foundation Czech schools and their activity. The bigger part of the work is occupied on the Czech school in Sokolov. Some of the most important people of the Czech minority are introduction. The component of the work is description of education in Czechoslovakia after the year 1918 and 1938, when the Czech minority schools were destroyed.
