Abstract:

Tato bakalářská diplomová práce popisuje tvorbu původní hudby k němému filmu „Magdalena“ českého skladatele Karla Weise. Zachycuje proces vzniku filmové opery od motivace skladatele, přes jeho seznámení s libretem, těžkosti se synchronizací hudby a obrazového děje, až k premiéře. Je nastíněna podstata soudního sporu Weise s filmovou společností Lloydfilm a objasněna existence tištěného klavírního výtahu „Magdaleny“. Nechybí také jeho krátký rozbor. Pro lepší znázornění celé problematiky je v práci stručně shrnut vývoj evropské i domácí kinematografie s přihlédnutím k hudební složce němého období. Bakalářská práce vyzdvihuje historické prvenství Karla Weise jako českého autora původní hudby k němému filmu.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis describes the creation of original music for the silent film "Magdalena" by the Czech composer Karel Weis. It deals with the process of formation of the opera film, which is described from the motivation of the composer, through his acquaintance with libretto, difficulties with the synchronization of music and stage image up to the premiere. Further the essence of the Weis´s dispute with the film company Lloydfilm is outlined and the existence of the printed piano arrangement of "Magdalena" is clarified. The short analysis of the arrangement is added. For a better representation of the whole problem the development of the European and domestic cinema with regard to the music component of the silent period is briefly summarised in the work. Bachelor thesis highlights the historical primacy of Karel Weis as a Czech composer of the original music of the silent film.
